Meet The Trainers 

Cody

Hi, I'm Cody! I have been an ACE certified trainer since 2017 and have been involved in wrestling, jiu jitsu, and weight training for over 15 years. I have a passion for understanding my clients on a deep level and seeing them bring out the best in themselves. I specialize in strength training and functional movement patterns, as well as weight loss. I believe in challenging the body in fun and unique ways while being strong and stable. Being able to move fluidly, have exceptional stamina, and be extremely strong are the core of what I teach. When it comes to habit building, I take a balanced and sustainable approach, celebrating small wins on a consistent basis and making incremental changes. I believe that fitness is a lifelong journey with many surprises along the way. More often than not, we exceed our own expectations and create new ones as we go on.

Abby

Hey, I'm Abby! So glad to have to you here! My experience with exercise and fitness began when I joined my local judo club at 6 years old. From that point on, I quickly realized my love for grappling sports. I went on to compete nationally and internationally in judo, added jiu jitsu to the mix, and wrestled varsity at Simon Fraser University. In 2021, I became an ACE certified personal trainer. As a trainer, I love seeing my clients realize how truly capable they are - mentally, emotionally, and physically. Alongside strength training, some of my other focuses include muscle building and weight loss. I can understand that starting a health and fitness journey can be quite intimidating for some. I am a strong believer in making training sessions fun and light-hearted, with special concentration on making gradual and consistent progress over time. I am always reminding my clients that this experience is a marathon, not a sprint. It is a joy to watch my clients discover the endless possibilities when setting and achieving their goals.

The Story Behind 'Stronger Together'

Cody and Abby's journey began at Simon Fraser University, where they crossed paths through mutual friends on the varsity wrestling team. As they pursued their Bachelor's Degrees, they became each other's support system, collaborating on papers, studying for exams, and overcoming challenges together on the wrestling mat. Their shared dedication forged a strong bond that continues to inspire them today.

Cody and Abby discovered their passion for fitness while working with strength and conditioning coaches at SFU. Their training sessions both on and off the wrestling mat pushed them to their limits and ignited a love for physical fitness. The challenges they faced only strengthened their commitment to improving their skills and overall well-being. Together, they embraced the journey of becoming stronger and more resilient.

Cody and Abby both eventually earned their personal training certifications. After graduating from SFU, they took on the challenge of helping a wide variety of individuals, many with chronic pain and limitations. To this day, they are passionate about guiding their clients along their fitness journeys, celebrating each milestone as they grow stronger and more capable. Cody and Abby love watching their clients thrive and live life to the fullest.  They have built many meaningful relationships along the way, forming incredible friendships with those they support.  They continue to dedicate themselves to empowering others to the best of their ability!
